Why this matters

What can't be proven gets missed.

Most storm damage is invisible from the ground. Bruised shingles, fractured mats, lifted ridge caps and compromised flashing all shorten the life of a roof long before a leak shows up on your ceiling.

An adjuster is on a schedule and may see a dozen homes in a day. What gets seen is what gets documented well — which is why your MTL Project Manager is on the roof with them, showing every piece of damage.

MTL Construction Services makes sure every piece of storm damage is found, recorded and explained clearly — and supplements anything the claim estimate leaves out.

The storm damage process

Seven steps. You always know where we are.

Nothing here is a surprise, and nothing happens without your approval first.

MTL Construction Services is a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster or a law firm. MTL does not negotiate or settle insurance claims and does not interpret insurance policies. MTL documents the damage, prices the repair and supplements what the claim estimate missed. Every decision about your claim is yours.

  1. 01

    Inspection

Your MTL Project Manager inspects the roof and property to see if you have storm damage — no sense opening a claim if there isn't damage. You get photos of what the inspection reveals so you can see for yourself, and a professional recommendation so you can decide which direction to move forward. The three main outcomes at this point are: no damage — no action, minor damage — repair, or significant storm damage — where you may decide to contact your insurance provider.

  2. 02

    Adjuster Inspection

If you decide to open a claim, you contact your insurance provider and give them the details. MTL Construction Services provides helpful details like the Date of Loss, photos, and a list of what was damaged. You will be given a Claim Number, and the insurance adjuster will later call to schedule their inspection. It is important that your MTL Project Manager be onsite to meet with the adjuster. Your MTL Project Manager usually arrives before the adjuster to mark up storm damage with chalk and get everything ready. The goal is to make the inspection quick and efficient for them while still making sure they see and document all the storm damage.

  3. 03

    Claim Estimate

The adjuster will need 7–10 days to write up the Claim Estimate and then send it to you. Sometimes they write it on site, but that is not as common. Whenever you receive the Claim Estimate from insurance, email MTL Construction Services a copy so MTL can compare its scope of work against the documented storm damage. Your MTL Project Manager will be prepared to walk you through any differences when you meet. If documented storm damage is missing from the Claim Estimate, MTL writes a supplement for it, with photos and the code or manufacturer requirement behind each line.

  4. 04

    Review Meeting

Your MTL Project Manager will meet with you in person to discuss the Claim Estimate, answer all your questions, advise on material selection for repairs, and pick a shingle color and schedule the work. Meetings are usually in person, but a video meeting is an option as well. Side note: if documented damage gets missed or the claim is denied, MTL Construction Services doesn't walk away. MTL goes back to the evidence, re-documents the damage, and gives you the full photo file so you can request a reinspection. If that still isn't enough, Texas gives you more firepower — a licensed public adjuster or an attorney — and MTL will hand them the strongest damage file they've seen and stay with you until your roof is built right.

  5. 05

    Install

Your MTL Project Manager will be onsite for your install, taking photos of the existing layers of the roof as they are torn off and photos of the new materials as they are installed. MTL Construction Services documents any additional damage found during tear-off with photos and supplements it.

  6. 06

    Supplement & Closeout

Once all the work is completed, MTL Construction Services sends the final supplement — the photos and line items for everything that was missing from the Claim Estimate — to you and your insurance provider. MTL also gives you the Certificate of Completion and final invoice so you can request your remaining funds.

  7. 07

    Final Payment

Once you receive the final funds from insurance, MTL Construction Services will collect final payment for the work completed. MTL will sign the Premium Reduction Form and provide it to you. If MTL has provided a high level of service, your MTL Project Manager will ask for a 5-star review and a referral!

Straight answers

What homeowners ask MTL first.

Will filing a claim raise your premium?
That's a question for your insurance agent — they know your policy and your carrier. MTL Construction Services stays out of your policy entirely. As a contractor, MTL documents storm damage and discusses the repair estimate, never your coverage.
What does the inspection cost?
Nothing. The inspection and the written assessment are complimentary, with no obligation and no pressure to file.
What if your claim is denied?
A denial often means damage was missed on the first look. Your MTL Project Manager goes back to the roof to re-document every piece of storm damage. MTL Construction Services gives you the evidence to request a reinspection. If that isn't enough, Texas gives you more firepower — a licensed public adjuster or an attorney — and MTL will hand them the strongest damage file they've seen. Either way, MTL stays with you until your roof is built right.
Do you work on older and historic homes?
Yes — that is much of what MTL Construction Services does. Older homes have detail work, framing conditions and material matching that a volume roofer is not set up to handle.
